CBRE
IWS delivered a turnkey EV charging solution at the World Business Centre, Heathrow Airport, installing over 40 Easee EV chargers to replace and expand the site’s existing infrastructure following the withdrawal of the previous provider.
IWS was appointed to design and deliver a complete EV charging infrastructure solution for CBRE at the World Business Centre, Heathrow. The project was initiated after the incumbent EV charging provider withdrew its service contract, requiring a rapid and reliable replacement. IWS undertook full responsibility from initial site survey through installation, commissioning, software integration, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to the operational site.
The primary objective of this project was to rapidly replace the site’s existing EV charging provider following the withdrawal of their service contract, ensuring continuity of charging provision at a busy commercial location.
In addition, the project aimed to expand charging capacity to support increased parking demand, deliver a fully compliant and future-proof EV infrastructure, and improve overall usability through the introduction of modern back-office software. Supporting CBRE’s wider sustainability and low-emission transport goals was a key driver throughout the project.
IWS delivered a fully turnkey solution, managing the project from initial site survey and planning through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.
The scope included the removal and replacement of existing chargers, the installation of over 40 Easee EV chargers—including 13 new units to support expanded parking areas—and the deployment of robust, accessible charger towers. The project also covered full testing and commissioning to ensure operational compliance, integration of Easee’s back-office management software, client training, and the provision of a maintenance package to meet warranty and reliability requirements.
The project was delivered against tight timelines dictated by the client’s operational requirements, requiring careful planning and coordination.
Installation works needed to be carried out outside of regular working hours to minimise disruption at the World Business Centre. A further challenge was ensuring a smooth transition from the previous EV charging provider, including educating the client on new software systems to enhance usability and ensure confidence in managing the new infrastructure.
The project was successfully completed on schedule and within budget, delivering a fully operational and compliant EV charging system.
The upgraded infrastructure enhanced charging capacity and reliability while significantly improving usability through training and ongoing support. The solution represented a meaningful step towards supporting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, while reinforcing IWS’s capability to deliver large-scale renewable energy and EV infrastructure projects in complex, operational environments.
